Andrew Stasher Obituary

Andrew Willis Stasher Jr. (affectionately known as Lil Dub) was born October 29, 1967, in Clarksdale, MS his parents Andrew Stasher Sr. and Elnora Stasher. He gave his life to Christ at a young age and became a member of First Christian Church, under the leadership of Elder E.L. Griffin. Andrew loved the Lord and was a dedicated servant. He served as an usher for many years and was a member of the choir where he was called on many occasions to sing, “I’m On the Battlefield”. He was a devoted father, a loyal brother, and a cherished friend.

Andrew graduated from Clarksdale High School in 1985. He was a football player during his high school years, and his favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys. He did not mind teasing opposing fans when the Cowboys would win by saying “How ‘bout them Cowboys”. He cheered for them fervently through wins and losses, embodying the true spirit of a loyal fan. Andrew also attended Coahoma Community College and graduated with an Associate’s degree in 1987.

Andrew dedicated over 30 years of his life in service to the United States Postal Service, demonstrating unwavering commitment and diligence in his work. He loved being a Postal Worker and rarely took off from work. He was sad when he became ill and was no longer able to serve as a postman and talk to everyone in the community on his route. He had a very sharp memory and could tell you any address or where any address was located in Clarksdale. Andrew was a very loving person who loved his children, mother, and family. He was a very strong-willed person and exemplified his willingness to live until he could not fight anymore. Aside from his dedication to work and sports, Andrew had a beautiful voice and a love for singing. He found joy in sharing his gift with others and often found solace and happiness in spending quality time with his cherished family and friends.
