Armelia Almedia Booker

Almedia Booker was born September 13, 1944 to the late Will and Will Ann Sanders in Greenville, MS. Almedia was educated in the Washington County and Coahoma County School districts and attended Coahoma Jr. College.

Almedia confessed hope in Christ at an early age and she was a devoted member of Metropolitan Baptist Church.

Almedia retired from Northwest Regional Medical Center after 25 years.

She was united in holy matrimony to J. D. Booker where two children were born.

Almedia departed this life on October 29, 2023 at her home at the age of 79 years.

Visitation will be Friday November 10, 2023 from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Royal Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday November 11, 2023, 11:00 AM, at Metropolitan MB Church.  Rev. Tyrone Miller will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.

Almedia was preceded in death by her late husband J. D. Booker, parents Will and Will Ann Sanders, two sisters, Leola Johnson and JoAnn Sanders.

Almedia leaves to cherish her memories five children: Marilynn (Willie) McGhee, Chicago, IL, Barry R. Sanders of Clarksdale, MS, Oliver (Toya) Sanders of Hope Mill, NC, Marcus Sanders of Plantation, FL, and Michael (Brittany) Booker of Peachtree Corner, GA: one sister, Alfredia Williams of Chicago, IL: ten children by her late husband, Viola (Sammie) Braxton, Geraldine Covington, Robert Booker, Louise Partee, Joystee Spaulry, Brownie (Joe) Jones, Gwen (LT) Fountain, Shirley (Eddie) Moore, Sharon (Willie) Rainey and Lawrence Booker: 17 grands and 3 great-grands; a God-daughter Geneva Robinson, caretaker Linda Franklin and family, Virge Melton and Donald Mitchell, a host other relatives and friends.
