Arnetta Allen Obituary

The LEGACY of Arnetta Lois Allen began September 9, 1958, in Chicago, IL at Cook County Hospital to the late Elden Allen Randle and L.V. Smith.  She was 2nd oldest child out of five.

After relocating from Chicago with her family to Clarksdale, MS, she accepted Christ at an early age at Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church. Lois began her education at Immaculate Conception School.  Lois continued her education at Clarksdale High School where she graduated with the class of 1975.  

She attended Coahoma Community College, earning an Associate degree in Biology in 1977.   She then went on to Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, and Dillard University in New Orleans, LA on a full scholarship. She went on to attend Mississippi Valley State University "Home of the Delta Devils" earning her Bachelor of Science in 1980.

Lois had a passion for helping others, therefore she decided to pursue her degree in nursing.  She later continued her education at Phillips Community College in Helena, AR completing an Associate Degree in Applied Science (1983). 

She became a registered nurse working several years in the field of nursing at Continue Care, where her patients and co-workers loved her dearly.  She continued her career at Northwest Mississippi Regional Hospital for twenty-seven years before retiring in 2008.

Visitation will be Saturday October 9, 2021 from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Royal Funeral Home.  The Celebration of Life will be Sunday October 10, 2021, 1:00 PM at Union Grove MB Church.  Rev. L.C. Tyler, II will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.  Expressions of condolences can be mailed to PO Box 1065, Clarksdale, MS 38614.

She was proceeded in death by her loving mother Elden Allen Randle, father L.V. Smith and brother she adored William Jessie Randle.

Her legacy will be cherished by her son: Adrian (Amanda) Allen of Clarksdale, MS; grandsons; Christian TreyVaughn Allen, Jordan Ajaye Allen and J'Vaugh Xavier Allen all of Clarksdale, MS; two loving sisters, Carolyn Allen of Clarksdale, MS; Blanche Meriweather (Douglas) of Michigan City, IN; one loving brother, Delvonne Randle of Clarksdale, MS;  two loving Great Aunts, Willia Mae Perry and Erma Lee Perry both of Michigan City, IN; one loving aunt Doris Allen of Chicago, IL; one loving uncle Morris Allen (Marlene); three devoted nieces Shemieka Allen of Southaven, MS, Crystal Peeler and Cecily Allen of Clarksdale, MS; and one devoted nephew Douglas Meriweather, II of Tupelo, MS; two great nephews, Eldon Dewayne Allen and Amir Meriweather; one great niece Avi’ana Meriweather; a host of cousins and friends that loved her and will continue her legacy.
