Barbara Fair Obituary

IN LOVING MEMORY OF BARBARA MCNUTT FAIR

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." John 14:27

Barbara McNutt Fair was born in Clarksdale, MS to Tommy Sr. and Ruthie McNutt on April 8, 1986. Barbara was the epitome of beauty, inside and out, and had a unique personality. She had a heart of gold. She was truly a gift from God and gifted in many areas.

Barbara lived most of her life in Marks, MS where she attended Quitman County Public School District, graduating in the year of 2004 from Madison Palmer High School. She continued her education at Coahoma Community College, earning an Associates Degree. Her oldest child Markel Octavious McNutt was born on October 25, 2003.  Prior to finishing junior college, her youngest child Kwendolyn LaShae Anderson affectionately known as "Shug" was born on February 15, 2005.

Barbara’s ambition continued to remain strong and she found her interest in the field of healthcare. Her career began at Quitman County Hospital as a Medical Records Clerk.  While employed in her hometown, she was a faithful servant at Greater Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ.  She confessed her hope in Christ at an early age. Barbara worked tirelessly at her hometown church. God began to charge her with different roles throughout the church.  She served as Sunday School Secretary, Youth Director, President of the praise team, and was also given the responsibility to design and print the programs for morning worship service. Barbara was also a football mom for the Marks 49ers while assisting with the team's cheerleaders.

Barbara relocated to Clarksdale, MS in 2012 and accepted the job at Family First Medical Clinic as a billing and coding specialists. While serving as a billing and coding specialists was her primary position,  she wore many hats well.  Barbara was employed with Family First as an Office Manager.  She made history at Family First! She was a part of the grand opening which eventually landed her the dream position as office manager which she served until her health failed. Barbara often told the story of God leading her to Clarksdale. She followed the Holy Spirit and made Clarksdale her home. Barbara met Bradford in 2016. She was joined in holy matrimony to Bradford W. Fair, Sr. on March 7, 2020. Together, they had a beautiful blended family, with three children and two dogs, Sky and Cocoa Wayne. She happily served as a Bonus Mom to Bradford W. Fair, Jr. to her dying day.  She strived to be a Proverbs 31 woman!

Barbara didn’t stop hearing from God.  She expressed how God told her that she was going to a bigger city with a possible career change.  She worked hard and discreetly on new accomplishments. She completed her phlebotomy certification and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Healthcare Administration on December 18, 2020 from Concordia University in St. Paul, MN.  Her ambition remained strong as she was getting ready to embark into a career change as becoming a registered nurse.

Barbara began her journey to greatness to achieve an everlasting reward on April 29, 2021 when she was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer.  Although the battle was very aggressive, challenging, and painful, she remained poised, courageous, and strong until God said “It is finished.”  She transitioned to the big city that God revealed to her on July 9, 2021 at 10:13 AM, surrounded by her husband, mother, and children.
