On a cold winter day, January 19, 1948 a beautiful daughter, Berniece Beasley Harrison was born to Mable Beasley and Arthur Moses in Coahoma County, Clarksdale, Mississippi.
Berniece was baptized at an early age at the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in Lyon, Mississippi. Later in life she relocated to Gulfport, Mississippi where she attended the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church.
Berniece is a 1966 graduate of W A Higgins High School, a 1968 graduate of Coahoma Junior College and a 1970 graduate of Jackson State University.
Berniece married Macarthur Harrison on May 25, 1972 in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Two sons were born to this union, Macarthur and Marcus.
Berniece taught at Bass Jr/Hi School in Greenville, Mississippi for many years. She loved to care for her children and her family. She always wanted things to be nice and neat. She would go above and beyond to make family and guest feel at home.
On Monday, April 5, 2021, around 10:30 pm at the Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, Mississippi, Berniece departed this earthly life.
Visitation will be Friday April 9, 2021 from 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM at Royal Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be Saturday April 10, 2021, 12:00 Noon, at Bell Grove M.B. Church. Burial will follow at McLaurin Memorial Gardens.
Berniece was preceded in death by her parents, Mable Beasley and Arthur Moses; her husband, Macarthur Harrison Sr.; her siblings, Luzon Beasley, Rozetta Beasley Coleman and James Beasley; two nephews, Dayron Braxton and Charlie Coleman Jr; in laws, Stella Ellington, LaVerne Ferrell, William, James Roy, Eddie and Lester Harrison; as well as many other relatives.
Berniece leaves to cherish her memories, her sons, Macarthur Harrison Jr. and Marcus (Tia D.) Harrison; her grandchildren, Raven S. Armstrong, Macarthur Harrison III, Markiya S. Harrison and Marcus Harrison II; her sisters, Edna Lyons and Mary Jones; her brothers, John (Helen) Beasley and Frank Beasley; sister in laws, Emma Evans, Lorraine Harrison, Gloria (Birley) Gipson, Dorothy (James) Moses, Rose Harrison, and Josephine Harrison; brother in laws, Pastor Johnny (Ann) Harrison and Roy Ferrell; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and family friends.
