Bessie Boyd, 91, of Sumner, MS, passed away Wednesday May 10, 2017 at Greenbough Health & Rehabilitation Rehab Center, Clarksdale, MS. Bessie was born May 9, 1926 to Jim and Rebecca Busby. Bessie confessed Christ at an early age at Sweet Home M.B. Church, Sumner, MS, and she was also a member of the Heroine of Jericho. Visitation will be Friday, May 19, 2017 from 1pm-5pm at Royal Funeral Home. The family hour will follow from 5pm-7pm. The funeral service will be at Sweet Home M.B. Church, 1PM, with the Rev. S.E. Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery. Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, William Bill Gaiter. Bessie leaves to cherish her memories 3 daughters, Martha (Oliver) Jackson of Syracuse, New York, Bobbie (Maurice) Wagner of Belleville, IL, Mary (Earnest) Williams of Clarksdale, MS; 5 sons; Herman Boyd, Tommy (Karen) Boyd, both of Chicago, IL, Roy Boyd of Florissant, MO, Morris (Diane) Gaiter of Virginia Beach, VA, Deloise (Linda) Gaiter of Webb, MS; 1 sister; Mary King of Omaha, NE; 40 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren.
