Carrie "Sister Baby" Reed

Mrs. Carrie “Sister Baby” Reed was born December 23, 1943 in Lombardy, Mississippi to the late Jim and Victoria Branch. She was the 4th child of 11 siblings.  Carrie answered her final call and gained her wings as God lead her into heaven’s gates on November 22, 2018.

Carrie grew up in Lombardy, MS where she birthed her only child, Paul Branch.  She later married Mr. Eddie Reed and into this union gained 4 sons and 1 daughter.

Carrie was a faithful member and served as Usher Board President of the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. James Bennett until God called her home.

Visitation will be Friday, November 30, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.  The celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018, 11:00 AM, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 1051 Walnut Street, Clarksdale, MS 38614.  Rev. James Bennett, officiating, and Rev. John Givins, Pastor.  Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah M.B. Church Cemetery, Stovall, MS.

Carrie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other children, family, and friends.

Carrie was preceded in death by her mother and father, Jim and Victoria Branch (Vandercraft); sisters, Willie V. Gaither, Ann M. Minor, and Edna Love.

Carrie leaves to cherish her loving memories: her husband, Eddie Reed of Farrell, Mississippi; one biological child, Paul (Cindy) Branch of Farrell, Mississippi; 4 sons, Jimmy Reed, Eddie Reed Jr., Willie Reed, Shawn Reed; 1 daughter, Teresa Reed Nash; 4 sisters, Mary (Freeman) Pickett of Steiger, Illinois, Ardella Branch of Harvey, Illinois, Lucy Holmes of Country Club Hills, Illinois, Ardalia Boone of Nashville, Tennessee; 3 brothers, Leroy (Teresa) Branch of Shelby, Mississippi, Robert Branch of Indianola, Mississippi, and Jake (Tammy) Branch of Enterprise, Alabama; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
