Catherine Weatherspoon, the youngest of six children, was born to the late James and Elnora Weatherspoon. Catherine was born on February 16, 1953 in Alligator, MS. She attended Coahoma Agricultural High School.
She professed her faith in Christ at an early age at Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church, under the direction of the late Pastor Willie Word. She continued to serve faithfully under the direction of Pastor Sculark.
Ms. Catherine Weatherspoon departed this earthly life on Monday, October 21, 2019 at Methodist Le Bonheur, at the age of 66 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Elnora Weatherspoon.
Visitation will be Friday October 25, 2019 from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Royal Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be Saturday October 26, 2019, 1:00 PM at Union Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. Samuel Sculark officiating. Burial will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
Those left to cherish her memories are her two daughters: Sonja (Anthony) Weatherspoon-Butler and Talisha (Melvin) Weatherspoon, both of Clarksdale, MS; two sisters, Nettie Weatherspoon of Clarksdale, MS; Willie Mae Larry of Dade City, FL; three brothers, Johnny (Dorothy) Weatherspoon and Charlie Weatherspoon of Clarksdale, MS; James (Bernice) Weatherspoon of Dallas, TX. Catherine is also survived by six grandchildren: Tyrhonda Weatherspoon, Shayla Weatherspoon, Anthony Butler,Jr., Christopher Thompson, Jr., Cameron Thompson, and Chrisiana Liner; five great grandchildren; Jordyn, Amarion, Aiden, Adrian, Sevyn; special friends; Della White, Gloria Dixon and the Stringers (Wilbur, Elouise, Gary, Carolyn, John, Kristin); and a host of nieces, nephews and other friends.
