Ceola Stewart was born December 31, 1946 in Lula, Mississippi to the late Henry and Leola Banks. Ceola departed her earthly home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in Schertz, TX. Ceola accepted Christ at an early age. Ceola's early education took place in Lula, MS. After relocating to Clarksdale, MS with her family as a teenager, she graduated from Coahoma Agricultural High School in 1964. While attending Coahoma Junior College in Clarksdale, MS, Ceola met the love of her life, Johnny R. Stewart. They later married while attending Jackson State University. To this union, 2 children were born. After leaving Mississippi, Ceola lived and worked in a many places, including Fort Rucker, AL, Clarksville TN, Germany, and San, Antonio TX. As a childcare professional, she held several positions including Child Development Program Assistant, Family Child Care Coordinator, and Assistant Child Development Center Director. Ceola was a loving, caring, and dedicated mother and wife. She loved her family dearly; she loved her sister, her nieces and nephews. She loved her special childhood friend, Mildred Yvonne Joiner and she especially loved her "grand-dog," Ceaser. Visitation will be Wednesday May 10, 2017 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Chapel Hill M.B Church. The funeral will follow at 12:00 Noon with the Rev. Dennis Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Ceola was preceded in death by her father and mother Henry and Leola Banks. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Johnny R. Stewart of Schertz, TX; her daughter, Erika R. Stewart of San Antonio, TX; and her son, Anthony T. Stewart of Schertz, TX. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Mary L. Caradine of Clarksdale, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Royal Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
