Charles was born on August 25, 1955 in Farrell, MS to Louis Johnson and Ester Harris. He was affectionally called “P-Luck” by friends. He transitioned from his earthly home on December 26, 2021. Charles accepted Christ as an early age at Lone Oak in Farrell, MS. He served on the deacon at Zion Travelers, under the leadership of Reverend Nolly.
Charles was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He simply adored his children and grandchildren.
Charles attended school in the Coahoma County School District. He joined the Army in 1977. Charles was a role model to his family and community. He was incredibly hardworking and reliable, working at many jobs throughout his lifetime. His goal was to make sure his family was taken care of.
On June 29, 1991, Charles married the love of his life Terry Gregory. There were blessed to be married for 30 years.
Visitation will be Friday December 31, 2021 at Royal Funeral Home from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. The Celebration of Life will be Saturday January 1, 2021, 2:30 PM, at Union Grove M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Clarksdale. The Rev. Clyde Glenn will be officiating.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents Louis Johnson and Ester Harris, and a sister Rosemary Johnson.
Charles leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife Terry Gregory Jones; five children: Teressa Grace, Taracillo (Latonya) Jones and Derrick Jones all of Clarksdale, MS, Jasmine Jones of New Albany, MS, and Cordaro Hardin of St. Petersburg, FL; bonus children: Fredderick (Latora) Gregory and Edemen (Katrel) Gregory of Clarkdale, MS; siblings: Willie Harris of Clarksdale, MS, Georgia Mae Magee of St. Louis, MO, Hester B. Handy of Malden, MO, Larry (Katie) Johnson of Farrell, MS, Catherine Johnson of Clarksdale, Louis (Louise) Kimble of Louisiana, Josephine (Rico) Smith of Coahoma, MS; stepbrother: Bryant McCray of Clarksdale, MS; He also leaves to cherish his memory, seventeen grandchildren, fourteen great grand children, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, and friends.
