Corine G. McKinnie was born on May 4, 1939 in Alligator, MS to the late Sip and Corine Spinks. She was the middle of three children.
Corine accepted Christ at an early age at Shiloh MB Church in Bobo, MS. She later joined Morning Star MB Church in Rena Lara, MS.
Corine was united in Holy matrimony to Sylvester McKinnie on September 12, 1956. To this union six children were born. She gave her service to Coahoma County School District for 44 years and left a lasting impression on all of the faculty, staff, and students she came in contact with by embracing them with a smile, her sense of humor, and the gift of cooking in which she was very good at.
Corine was preceded in death by her husband Sylvester McKinnie; a grandson Timothy McKinley; a sister Gladys Heags.
Corine leaves to cherish her memories six children Sylvester (Francine) McKinnie Jr. of Chicago, IL, Clara (Jessie) Sims of Clarksdale, MS, Tommie Lee (Johnetta) McKinnie of Rena Lara, MS, Inez (Robert) Jackson of Clarksdale, MS, Helen (Lawrence) Spearman of Clarksdale, MS, Brenda Veasy of Bartlett, TN; 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; a special niece Lillie Mae Robinson; a host of other relatives and friends.
