Dana Orlando Hunter was born March 2, 1962 to Clyde Hunter and Erma Lee Hunter. Dana was a lifelong resident of Clarksdale, MS. Dana accepted Christ at an early age at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. F.W. Williams. Dana was employed for thirty-one years at Tippitt’s Transmission. Dana was joined in holy matrimony on November 21, 1987 to Brenda Mitchell-Hunter.
Visitation will be Friday, April 12, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Royal Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be Saturday, April 13, 2019, 12:00 p.m. at New Bethel M.B. Church , 101 18th Street, Clarksdale, MS, preceded by a visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Nathaniel “Chuck” Pollard will be officiating.
Dana was preceded in death by his mother and father, Clyde & Erma Hunter, five aunts, Ruby Boone, Alice Taylor, Dorothy Taylor, Virgie Taylor, Jean Alice Taylor, three uncles, Tommie Taylor, Ellis Taylor, Aaron Taylor, father in law and mother in law Adam Mitchell Jr. & Dorothy Mitchell.
Dana leaves to cherish his memories wife Brenda Mitchell-Hunter, two daughters, Jennifer (Lamar) Rodgers, Neikeita Mitchell,; one son, Jason Mitchell; five brothers, Ellis (Jeannie) Hunter, David (Winsome) Hunter, Anthony Hunter, Clyde Hunter, Carl Hunter; two sisters, Flossie Ann Strozier, Mary Jenkins; five aunts, Sherrie (Warren)Mangle ,Mearline (Donald) Cannon, Sadie Mitchell, Louise McCray, Tina Taylor; one uncle, Earnest (Velma) Taylor; one sister in law, Rose (Marvin) Minor; two brother in laws, Adam Mitchell III, Steven (Angela)Mitchell,; best friend Floyd (Debra)Womble; four play sisters, Patricia Bane, Martha Berry, Gerldene Partee, Augusta Strong; God-Brother, Calvin (Annie)Banks; play aunt, Annie Mae Parnell; one grandson, Kaiser Rodgers ; 2 god-children, Semaj Partee, Jamylah Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, favorite cousins (Haynes, Ray & Partee Families), special brothers (Robert Burkhalter, Nathaniel Perry, Melvin Stokes, Isiah Rushing) ; adopted family (the Womble) Alan Drive neighbors who loved him dearly and his two favorite pets, Blackie and Blue.
