Reflection of Life
Danny Lee Hancock was born August 1, 1953 to the late Emmett L. and Aurelia B. Hancock in Memphis, TN. He departed this life on August 13, 2022.
Danny was a Class of 1972 graduate of Southside High School. He later attended Shelby State Community College where he obtained an Associate’s Degree in Auto Mechanics. He began his entrepreneurship by opening up his very own auto repair shop, Downtown Auto Repair. During his spare time, he assisted his wife by being such an advocate for child care, running errands, cooking food, or just simply keeping the kids entertained. Blessed with many talents, Danny was a professional barber in which he inspired others to start a career in the barbering field. He was the go-to brother, uncle, cousin, and friend for all, just an all-around renaissance man.
Danny was united in holy matrimony to his wife Sharon “Dee” for over fifty years. He leaves to cherish his memories; wife Sharon “Dee”, four daughters, Stephanie “Pooh”, Andrea “Bird” (Wayne), Shauntae and Alexandrea “Alex”; three granddaughters Lauren “LaLa”, Airyn & Aurelia; siblings Sharon, Nancy, Paula (John); brother in love Joseph (Velecia) and sister in love Hattie; great uncle Roosevelt Sr. (Joyce); a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless genuine friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents Emmett L. and Aurelia B. Hancock; siblings Ronald W. Sr. and Glenn E. Sr. Hancock.
“When a loved one becomes a memory, a memory becomes a treasure.
Treasure the memories. So grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you still. Treasure the memories!”
Love always, Danny
“A Scrapper for life!”
