Mr. David (Pep) Wright, Sr. was born on January 31, 1942 to the late Wardell Wright and Rosie Lee Williams Wright and Rosie Lee Williams Wright in with he departed his life on March 7, 2017. David confessed hope in Christ at an early age at Morning Glory M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Jessie Bishop. During most of his career he was a farmworker and carpenter until his health failed. He was an advocate of sports; basketball, football, and baseball was his favorite. He loved spending time with his family and always has a positive perspective on his life, sharing his kindness and wisdom with others. David was preceded in death by his lovely parents, Wardell Wright and Rosie Lee Williams Williams (Wright); 1 brother; Percy Wright; 4 sisters; Bobbie J. Calhoun, Levon Carter, Martha L. Thomas, Florida M. Wright; 3 sons; David (Man) Wright, Dwight Wright, Willie E. Wright; 1 daughter; Patricia A. Wright; 3 grandchildren; Tenisha T. Johnson, Antonio S. Wright, Jamielen M. Wright; 1 great granddaughter; Jakaylynn M. Clark; 1 nephew; Rodney T. Thomas; all of Clarksdale, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 1pm-5pm at Royal Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at Union Grove M.B. Church Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 2:00 P.M with the Rev. L.C. Tyler II officiating. Burial will follow at McLaurin Gardens Cemetery, Lyon, MS. He leaves to cherish his many memories his lovely wife, Catherine M. Wright; 4 lovely daughters; Iola Wright, Cathileen Wright, Sarah Conner (Greg), Chanty L. Wright, all of Clarksdale, MS; 2 handsome sons, Eric Tyrone Wright, Destry D. Wright, both of Memphis, TN; 3 sister-in-laws; Dot, Jean, Ida Mae, all of Clarksdale, MS; 2 brother-in-laws; Jessie McDonald, Lonnie McDonald, both of Columbia, SC; 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Royal Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
