On February 5, 1947, Dorothy Davis Cooper was born in Clarksdale, MS to the late Mr. George Brooks Sr. and Mrs. Rosie Glasper Brooks.
She attended school in Dundee, MS and graduated from Coahoma Community College. She worked in home healthcare over 20 years.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, Saturday December 16, 2023 at Pleasant Valley MB Church. The Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 PM. Pastor John E. Givens will be officiating. Burial will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, Mr. George Brooks Sr., and mother, Mrs. Rosie Glasper Brooks; husband Joe Edward Davis; two children; daughter, Sandra Davis and son, Robert Lee Davis; five brothers W.C. Brooks, George Brooks, Jr., Willie Lee Brooks, Tillman Brooks, and Jessie James Brooks, two sisters; Pearlie Mae Office and Mary Brooks; grandchildren Kevin Grayson and Josephine Crocroft.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories her sister Lula B. Talley; children Joe (Shelia) Davis, Bobby Davis, Steven (Roberta) Davis, Carolyn (Delaney) Evans, Felisa (Stanley) George; special daughters Joyce Davis, Sharon Washington, and Rosie Grayson; grandchildren Dania Davis, Shandrika Marshall, Shakiyla Marshall, Shamia Davis, Josslyn Davis, Jaylon Davis, Kayla Holt, Joe Davis, Joey Davis, Jordan Davis, Jorian Davis, Prince Anthony, Steve Horton, Kayla Anthony, Samuel Washington, Bobby Washington, Patrice Washington, and Patique Washington; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
