Eddie M. Laws Sr. fondly known as Rob passed away on April 20th, 2021, at the age of 82. He was a loving husband and supportive father, a true example of a protector and provider. Eddie Sr. was also an avid fisherman who took pleasure in traveling to visit, provide transportation, and support those he loved. He was favored among many for his kind heart and his selfless nature.
Eddie Laws Sr. lived most of his young adult life in Chicago, Illinois. Upon his return to Clarksdale, he began his career at Wonder Bread in the early 1970s. He met and married the love of his life Diane Flowers Laws shortly thereafter. They had one son together, Eddie M. Laws Jr. He also helped his wife rear her four small children and loved them as his own from the time they met. He spoiled his grandkids and loved spending time with them.
He was born May 25, 1938 to Andrew D. Laws and Odessa Stephans Laws in Clarksdale, MS. He had eight brothers; Andrew Laws Jr., Joseph Laws, Tom Laws, Albert Laws, Samuel Laws, James Laws, Levi Laws, Otis Laws and two sisters. Bertha Thomas, and Earnestine Allen.
Visitation will be Saturday April 24, 2021 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at First Baptist M.B. Church. The Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Heavenly Rest Cemetery, Lyon, MS.
He was preceded in death by his wife Diane Flowers Laws and parents Andrew D Laws and Odessa Stephens Laws, brothers Samuel Laws, Joseph Laws, Tom Laws, Levi Laws, Andrew Laws, James Laws, one sister Bertha Thomas, and one step son Adrean Flowers in heaven.
Left to cherish his precious memories is his son Eddie M. Laws Jr. of Southaven MS, and three stepchildren: Sheila Flowers of White Plains, MD., Lura (Artis) Ferguson of Clarksdale, MS. and Michael Booker of Southaven, MS.. Two brothers Otis (Velma) Laws of Tampa Florida, Albert Laws of Clarksdale, MS. One sister Earnestine Allen of Detroit, MI., ten grandchildren, one great grand, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
