Eddie Sykes Sr.

Eddie Sykes Sr., 60, of Clarksdale, MS passed away Monday January 25, 2021 at Merit Health.  Eddie was born September 25, 1960 in Shelby, MS to Eddie Sykes Sr. and Augusta Monroe.

Eddie was a jack of all trades.  He was a self-employed carpenter that specialized in a variety of services he could offer from remodeling to painting. Eddie was a veteran of the United States Army, receiving numerous recognitions to include; Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, WCO Professional Development Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon, Expert Badge with R16 Riffle Barrel, Expert Badge with Hand Grenade Barrel, Air Assault Badge.

Visitation will be Friday January 29, 2021 at Royal Funeral Home from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM.  The graveside memorial will be Saturday January 30, 2021, 12:00 PM at McLaurin Memorial Gardens, Hwy 61 North. 

Eddie leaves to cherish his memories his wife Barbara Ann Travis-Sykes; four children Eddie Earl, Alicia Sykes, Lucinda Holmes Stapleton, and Charlotte Bays; two sisters Elizabeth "Liz" Streeter, Mary (Louis) Pollard; one brother John Fitzgerald Sykes; eleven grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
