Fredrick Norris Obituary

A Time to Be Born – Fredrick “Fred” Norris was born August 8, 1972 to Fronie Lee Norris and George Jones.

A Time to Accept Christ – Fred accepted Christ at an early age at Pleasant Valley M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Myles Long.  He continued to remain faithful at Pleasant Valley under the current leadership of Pastor John E. Givins, until his passing.

A Time to Serve – Fred was a big advocate for the Clarksdale community.  He helped with various political campaigns, barbequed for different neighborhood events, and even high school football games.  Fred’s biggest service was his dedication to the youth and coaching.  Fred gave over twenty years of service to coaching the Clarksdale Eagles and Bears in which he was very passionate about.

A Time to Educate – Fred attended Oakhurst Middle School and Coahoma Agricultural High School.  Fred had various jobs including Coahoma Opportunities Inc. as well as Delta Rental.  Fred even started a Carwash & Detail Shop in Riverton along with a corner store on Cherry Street.  In the early years of 2000, Fred worked for Chapman, Lewis, and Swan Law Office and later went on to work for Southland Management until his untimely departure.

A Time to Rest – On August 28, 2020, the Lord said unto him “Well Done”, good and faithful servant: thou have been faithful over a few things and I will make you ruler over many.

Visitation will be Saturday September 5, 2020 from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Royal Funeral Home.  A family hour will follow from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM.  A graveside memorial will be Sunday September 6, 2020 at Heavenly Rest Cemetery, 2:00 PM, with the Rev. James Jackson, officiating. 

A Time for Memories – He was preceded in death by his mother Fronie Norris; father George Jones; two brothers Alfred D. Carr and Wallace Norris; one sister Mamie Mullins.

Fred leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife Tanisha Daniel Norris, three daughters Fredricka Norris (Huntsville, AL), Teia & Ta’Summer Johnson (Clarksdale, MS); one son Troy Johnson (Clarksdale, MS); eight sisters Shirley (William) Carr of Huntsville, AL, Johnnie (Joseph) Mitchell of Elpaso, TX, Dorothy (Richard) William, Rosie Norris of Huntsville, AL, Annie (Al) Henderson of Lansing, IL, Febbie Jones of Vilseck, Germany, Sabrina (Andre) Pittman of Memphis, TN, Janet (Victor) Jones of Chicago, IL.; five brothers Phillip (Deborah) Norris of Jackson, MS, Isaac Norris of Huntsville, AL, Elder Joseph (Gloria) Jones of Joliet, IL, Walter (Tracy) Jones of Dallas, TX, Isaac (Brenda) Jones of Warner Robin, GA; four grandchildren Emanee, Elijah, & Ellen Norris of Huntsville, AL, Kacen Cosby of Clarksdale, MS; mother in law Betty Johnson of Clarksdale, MS, two close friends Omar Avery and David Mcgee; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
