George Williams was born to the late Lula and James Williams, Sr. on June 11, 1959 in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He was the seventh child of eleven. George accepted Christ at an early age at New Mount Olive M. B. Church under the leadership of the late Rev. W. M. Tyler.
George attended schools in the Clarksdale Public School District. He was a great welder and throughout his lifetime he worked for Mississippi Limestone, Walker Welders, Po Boy Welding and J & R Body Shop.
Visitation will be held Friday June 3, 2022 at Royal Funeral Home from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Funeral service will be Saturday June 4, 2022, 2:30 PM, at Union Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. Joe Ringo officiating. Burial will follow at McLaurin Memorial Gardens.
George began a new journey on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 with new wings, but certainly the same soul as he quietly and peacefully accepted God’s call from life to eternity. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Earline Carter and Bernetta Williams; two brothers, Eddie Johnson, Sr. and Jimmy Williams, Jr.; a niece, Tiffany Twitty and nephew Kenneth Williams, Jr.
George’s memories will last forever in the hearts of those who loved him dearly~ his son Joshua Ringo (Lashondra Banks) of Clarksdale, MS; grandson Kyron Banks of Clarksdale, MS; (2) sisters: Verlina Williams-Collins of Clarksdale, MS and Cynthia Williams of Robinsonville, MS; (4) brothers: Kenneth Williams(Robbie) of Clarksdale, MS; Willie Williams of Jackson, MS; William Calhoun (Belinda) of Chicago, IL and Thomas Calhoun of McDermont, OH; a special friend, Shirley Franklin of Clarksdale, MS and a host of special and dear nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles cousins and friends.
