Gloria Jean Fenton
God Fearing, Spirit-Filled, & Righteous Mother
Gloria Jean Fenton was born on December 28, 1948, to the late Nathan White and Maeola White in Lyon, MS. Gloria accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at an early age and later joined King’s Temple Missionary Baptist Church where she became a faithful and active member serving as an usher and on the courtesy committee.
Gloria graduated from Coahoma Agricultural High School, Coahoma Community College and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Delta State University. Her career highlights included working for the United States Postal Service, Clarksdale Public School System and Walmart Incorporated.
After college she married James Fenton and their union produced four children. Her greatest joy was being a mother and nurturing her children to trust God and to be their best. Her love for God helped her to enjoy life and live by one of her favorite scriptures, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
On January 26, 2025 she transitioned into her heavenly home after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer.
