Henry Sims

Today, Henry Lee Sims, has run the race, kept the faith and rests in his Master’s arm.

On Saturday, December 25, 2021, the angels were dispatched from heaven to Covington, GA and there was one of the God’s children awaiting to be carried to the Master’s loving arms for eternal rest. Today, we thank God for giving us this most precious gift for 71 years.

Henry Lee Sims, “Pep” as he was called by family and friends was born on December 22, 1951, in Farrell, MS to the late J.C. and Dollie Sims. Henry began his walk with the Lord at an early age at Adams Chapel. Henry attended Dublin Elementary School and later attend Coahoma Agricultural High School. He enlisted and served in the United States Army October 15, 1969- October 14, 1975. Henry held numerous jobs throughout the years. He was employed with Porter-Ferguson as a cabinet assembly line worker and a healthcare aide until his retirement.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents: J.C. Sims and Dollie Sims; two sons: Chris Sims and James Haley; three sisters: Glory Sims-Pam, Shirley Sims-Fisher, and Gloria Ann Sims-Haggan; 2 brothers: Carnell Sims and Albert(A.C.) Sims

Henry’s legacy will forever be remembered by his family. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Willie Mae Lynch-Sims, Ten children; Henry Lee(Jaime) Sims Jr. of Chicago, IL; Lamega Ross of Tutwiler, MS, Albert(Natasha)Sims of Memphis, TN, Travene Sims, Teddy(Kanisha) Sims, Mary Haley, John Haley, Caray Haley, all of Detroit, MI; Shanika Sims and Clifton Lynch of Lima Ohio; five brothers: J.C. (Jo’Ann) Sims, O’Neal(Robbie) Sims, Jessie (Clara) Sims, Michael (Shirley) Sims, Walter (Amber) Sims all of Clarksdale, MS; five sisters Minnie Chambers, Dollie Sims, Betty Sims, Viletta Sims all of Clarksdale, MS and Essie(Curtis) Stanton of Rena Lara, MS. Thirty-one grandkids, six great-grands and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. And a very special friend Savannah Tyson of Atlanta, GA.
