Ignatius Weddington Jr.

Ignatius Weddington, Jr. was born March 19, 1981 to Ignatius Weddington, Sr. and Diann Welch of Clarksdale, MS. He was a graduate of Clarksdale High School Class of 1999. He received his Bachelors of Science from Mississippi State University in 2004. Ignatius gave his life to Christ at an early age at Rise Again Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksdale, MS.

Ignatius enjoyed activities such as singing, listening to various musical artists - his favorites being Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. His many talents consisted of cooking, playing the saxophone, singing in any church choir that would have him, being an 'owt' friend, wearing the mantle of being the oldest of Diann's children and being the 'Best Uncle in the World!'

Ignatius owned being a big brother! He was always meddling in the affairs of his younger siblings. He styled his baby sisters from head to toe as well as kept the house fed. He was often the last kid out of the house and therefore tardy for school. Being a big brother carried quite the load. To keep five others together and being a helpmate to a single mother was truly commendable. His sacrifice and pursuit of excellence in education for his family set the tone for the rest of the household to follow. In turn it trickled down to his first nephew - as he was ever so present in the works of Aj. The late night conversations and the early morning calls just to check on the well being of others shows the love he had for all!

Ignatius was selfless in his actions, shouldering the burden of so much! A child of God, a caring son, a beloved brother, a loving uncle, and a caring friend! His efforts will manifest in the hearts and works of loved ones for all time! Thank you for your pursuit of love and family!

Ignatius leaves to cherish his beloved furbaby, Ivy, who was the apple of his eye.

Ignatius was preceded in death by: Maggie Welch & Edward Greenlaw (maternal grandparents), Aaron & Johnie Mae Weddington (paternal grandparents), Aaron 'Sonny' Weddington, Virginia Henley, Mamie Lois Weddington, Lee Williams, Woody Williams (Helen), and Robert Williams (Sherry)
