Inez Ross Jackson, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, transitioned from this earthly life on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at her home. She was born to Sylvester and Corine McKinnie and was a cherished member of her family and community.
Inez’s faith journey began early in life when she joined Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Rena Lara, MS, where she sang in the choir. She later became a dedicated member of New Bethel Church, embodying a spirit of service and devotion.
Her educational journey took her through Sherard Elementary School, Coahoma County High School, and Coahoma Junior College. For over 37 years, Inez served as a Personal Care Director at Delta Manor, where her dedication extended beyond her role. She also supported her community through various responsibilities such as work floor supervision, dietary management, and scheduling, always putting her residents’ needs first.
A woman of many talents and passions, Inez loved spending quality time with her family and friends. She was a passionate Memphis Grizzlies basketball fan, cheering fiercely for her team. Her culinary skills were exceptional, and she was known for her delicious cooking that brought loved ones together.
Visitation will be Friday May 30, 2025, from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM at Royal Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be Saturday, 11:00 AM, at Union Grove MB Church, 2237 North State Street, Clarksdale, MS 38614. Burial will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Rev. Emmanuel Boone will be officiating. Rev. L.C. Tyler, II is pastor.
Inez’s legacy includes her loving husband of 19 years, Robert Jackson; her daughter Alkisha Ross and her son Derrick Ross, both of Clarksdale, MS; her eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She leaves behind her siblings Betty Thigpen, Sylvester McKinnie Jr., Clara Sims, Tommie Lee McKinnie, Helen Spearman, Brenda Veasy, and Jack Spinks, as well as her special godson, Vernell Kendell Johnson, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Inez was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Corine McKinnie; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Her warm spirit, kind heart, and joyful presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
