James Jones Jr.

James Jones Jr. was born August 15, 1946, to Nellie Long and James Jones Sr. in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He gave his life to Christ at an early age at Greater Centennial Baptist Church in Clarksdale, MS.

Later in life, James Jones Jr. was ordained Deacon James at his home church in Amarillo, TX. and dedicated his time serving there, while being the welcoming smile as people walked into the Lord's house.

Visitation will be Friday April 2, 2021 from 1PM-4PM at Royal Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held Saturday April 3, 2021, 11:00 AM, at Pleasant Valley M.B. Church.  Burial will follow at McLaurin Memorial Gardens.  

James Jones Jr. was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Jones, his father, James Jones Sr., his mother, Nellie Long, his stepmother Savannah Jones, stepfather, Henry Long, his son, Terry Jackson, and his brothers, James Barlow, Torrence Jones, Robert Jones, & Paul Williams Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughters IoLantha (Chad) Beasley of Cordova, TN., Arnel Davis of Atlanta, GA., LaTesia Jones of Clarksdale, MS., and his son Norch (LaTonya) Jones of Grand Rapids, MI. His sisters, Frances (George) Shepard of Zion, IL, Athalia (Willie) Jones of Kenosha, WI, Kathy Jones of Pleasant Prarie, WI. and Catherine Williams of Clarksdale, MS. and brother Perry Riley of Columbus, OH. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, LaToya, Reginald, Bridget, Justin, Jasmine (Michael), Jermaine, Samaria, Kaniya, Jacorah, Jaylen, and Damarien, 6 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
