James Lee Washington Sr.

James Lee Washington Sr., 75, of Friars Point, MS, passed away Monday September 25, 2023 at Methodist North, Memphis, TN.

James "Coach" Washington was a pioneer who''s legacy will be remembered.  He devoted most of his working career to the Maroon & White family.  He also currently served as the mayor of Friars Point, MS.

Viewing will be Sunday October 8, 2023 from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM at Coahoma Community College Pinnacle.  The Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 PM.  Burial will be at Friars Point Cemetery.  Rev. Earl Myles will be officiating.
