His Life Story
James Bernard Thomas was born on May 5, 1979, in Clarksdale, MS, to Ruby Lee Thomas and James Sutton, Jr. His early spiritual journey led him to be baptized at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksdale, MS, a community where he maintained his membership. After completing his education at Coahoma Agricultural High School in 1998, James ventured to Atlanta, GA, where he obtained employment at a CarMax dealership, specializing in car detailing.
Over the years, James established himself as a dedicated and hardworking professional, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and clients. Driven by ambition and a desire to succeed, James took a leap of faith and ventured into entrepreneurship. In pursuit of his passion for automotive craftsmanship, he founded "Shine and Tint," a business specializing in auto body work at multiple locations across Atlanta. Beyond his professional achievements, James was known for his vibrant personality and generous spirit. He had a knack for brightening any room with his infectious laughter and genuine kindness. Whether it was through his work or his social engagements, James formed meaningful relationships with everyone he met, leaving a lasting impression wherever he went.
James's legacy as a devoted father will endure in the lives of his three children and in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
However, on April 5, 2024, James passed away unexpectedly at the age of 44, leaving behind a profound sense of loss among his family, friends, and all who knew him. Despite the sorrow of his untimely departure, James's memory lives on as a beacon of love, laughter, and legacy. His life story serves as a reminder of the impact one person can have on the world through their kindness, dedication, and unwavering spirit.
Visitation will be held Saturday April 20, 2024 from 1PM - 3PM at Royal Funeral Home. The funeral services will be held Sunday April 21, 2024, 2PM, at Union Grove MB Church. Burial will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
James reunites in Heaven with his mother, Ruby Lee Thomas, his grandfather, Mozell Thomas Sr., his aunt, Rosetta Smith and a special great aunt, Mary Sidney.
James was survived by his father, James Sutton, Jr. of Memphis, TN, his only daughter, Moesha Young of Clarksdale, MS, two sons, James Bernard Thomas Jr. and Joshua Johan Thomas of Atlanta, GA, two grandkids, Tylan McCraney and Taylor McCraney of Clarksdale, MS, two sisters, Aisha Hassell (Reginald) of Chicago, IL and Dorian Sutton of Dallas, TX, two brothers, Johnathan Foster of Dallas, TX and Michael Shelton (Chassidy) of Clarksdale, MS, a special friend, Shannon Compton of Atlanta, GA, five uncles, Michael Sidney, John Thomas, Jessie Thomas (Harriet), Mozell Thomas, Jr. (Linda), and Willie Thomas, three aunts, Patricia Robinson (Johnny), Diane Sutton, and Sarah Hunter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
