Janet Harris was called home on November 4, 2023. She was born March 17, 1966 in Lambert, Mississippi to Gladys Harris. She accepted the Lord at an early age and joined New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with her Great-Grandmother, Annie Mae Brown.
Janet was an intelligent woman and valued education. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School as the valedictorian. She received her Associates Degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Mississippi Delta Community College and dedicated over 30 years in the healthcare profession from working in the hospital, rehabilitation centers, and nursing homes. Janet was always valued as a dependable, hard-working, well respected individual no matter where she was.
Janet was always smiling, loved to laugh, and had a true passion for helping others. She enjoyed traveling and was one to appreciate the natural beauty of the world.
Visitation will be Saturday November 11, 2023 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Royal Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be Sunday November 12, 2023, 1:00 PM, at New Morning Star MB Church. Rev. Keith Powell will be officiating. Burial will follow at McLaurin Memorial Gardens.
She leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Gladys Harris of Greenwood, MS; Grandmother, Rose Glenn of Clarksdale, MS; two daughters, Shanelle Harris of Memphis, TN and Dr. Tonya Harris of Atlanta, GA; a son, Brian Harris of Jackson, MS; 5 grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
