Jewel Marie Brown

Jewel Marie Brown was born November 15, 1961 in Clarksdale, MS to Jewel and the late Harrison Moore, Sr. in Clarksdale, MS.

Jewel was a lifelong resident of Clarksdale, MS.  She had a very unique personality and loved family gatherings, whether it was enjoying the food, dancing, or playing cards, which she was very good at.  She was also a caretaker for family & friends, and was an animal lover.  She started as an entrepreneur at a young age.

Jewel’s final moments of life was surrounded by family and friends, embracing the room with her smile and charisma. The final moments of her life was captured with a family photo, just less than fifteen hours before God called her home on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at 8:20 AM.

Jewel was preceded in death by one sister Bernice Roberson; three brothers Arthur Moore, Harrison Moore, Jr., and Robert Payne, Jr.

Jewel leaves to cherish her memories her husband David Brown; mother Jewel Moore Richey; two children David Brown, Jr. of Omaha, NE, Liberty Mosley; four sisters Mary (Ricky) Hooper of Clarksdale, MS, Jeanette (Sol) Grace, Joann Butler, both of Memphis, TN, Diana Giles of Los Angeles, CA; two brothers LayFun Moore, H.M. Moore, both of Clarksdale, MS; two God-children Rosemary and Sylvester Coleman; one grandchild David Brown III, a host of other relatives and friends.
