Joe Steve Clark, Jr. was born to the late Joe Steve Clark, Sr. and Tezzie Mae Duluch. He confessed his faith and hope in Jesus Christ at an early age at Zion Traveler MB Church under the leadership of Rev. R. H. Hedrick. Joe was a lifelong resident of Mississippi, where he attended Sherard Elementary School and Coahoma Agricultural High School. After graduating in 1970, he proudly joined the United States Marine Corps.
Joe loved singing and took great pride in sharing his gift of music. Throughout his life, he worked diligently at Red Panther Chemical Plant, Duo Fast, and Humber Farms, demonstrating his strong work ethic and dedication.
Visitation will be Friday September 5, 2025 at Royal Funeral Home from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be Saturday September 6, 2025, 12:00 Noon, at Zion Traveler MB Church, Farrell, MS. Pastor Lorenzo Windless will be officiating. The burial will follow at the Zion Traveler Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers—Jessie, Henry, and Mack Clark; his sister Jerel Clark; and his daughter Victoria Monroe.
Joe leaves behind a legacy of love and memories with his wife of 31 years, Virglean Clark. He was a devoted father to five daughters: Consuella Clark of Farrell, MS; Veronica Shanklin (Deairis) of Horn Lake, MS; Hermona Hunter of Clarksdale, MS; Eltwanda Stoxstill of Detroit, MI; and Bobbie Hail (Johnny) of Clarksdale, MS. He was also a loving father figure to Christopher Stoxstill (Jacqueline) and Joe Stoxstill (Crystal), both of Detroit, MI, as well as to children he helped raise—Donald Ray (Ann), Paul (Alexis), Audraey, Trina, Martia, and Nathan, all of Detroit, Michigan.
Joe is survived by his four sisters—Vera Clark, Vyneatta Ivy of Detroit, MI, Rose Evans of Denver, CO, and Julia Magsby of Indiana; two brothers—Terry Bolden of California and Charlie Bolden of Nebraska; one special nephew, Felix Clark; and a host of 27 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other relatives.
Joe's life was a testament to faith, love, and service. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew him.
