Johnnie B. Woods Jr. was born June 15, 1935 in Indianola, MS to the late Johnnie Woods, Sr. and Addie B. Terry.
At the age of thirteen He moved to Florida and resided there for over 30 years. It was Florida where he united in marriage to Rosie Marie Colson and to that union one daughter was born. While living in Florida Johnnie was a successful entrepreneur owning a construction business and a nitery. After moving back to Greenville, he became a soldier of God’s army under the leadership of the late Rev. R. L. Reed at the Greater St. Mary Baptist Church. Johnnie was an active usher until his health began to fail.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the Greater St. Mary Baptist Church. The Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 AM. Rev. Thomas Gray, Pastor and Officiant. The burial will follow at Lakewood Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sonya Woods, parents Johnnie Woods, Sr. and Addie B. Terry, siblings Walter Norris and Robert Fulton.
On August 7,2019 at 6:09 a.m. Johnnie B. Woods went to his everlasting rest at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, MS.
He leaves to cherish his love many nieces, nephews, cousins and his church family and friends.
