Joyce Marie Kern graced this earth on March 28, 1958 in Lambert, Mississippi to the late Lula Mae Bennam-Kern and Adolph Kern. She was the only girl born among three brothers, whom she cherished dearly. She received her education from Quitman County Schools, Coahoma Agricultural High School, Jackson State University, & Tuskegee University. She valued her small family, and she was so happy when the Kern’s legacy began to blossom.
Among the Brickyard’s best cooks, you could easily find her sashaying in the kitchen displaying her southern roots. She was a master cook and was oftentimes called upon to make some of her signature dishes for family and friends. She loved helping others as demonstrated by her devotion to her volunteer work at St. James Missionary Outreach Food Bank. She also served as a faithful usher at Faith Temple COGIC Church up until the decline of her health. She persevered vigorously and fought valiantly, but the Lord called her home for rest on March 15, 2024 at AMG Specialty Hospital in Batesville, MS at 2:30 a.m.
