Keith L. Kent, Sr.

Keith L. Kent Sr. was born in Clarksdale, MS to Harold Kent, and the late Linnie Mae Brooks on March 24, 1970. He was survived by his wife, Sonja Williams Kent, from Clarksdale, MS on December 26, 1993. He departed this earthly life on February 11, 2025, at the age of 54.

 Keith was affectionately known, and a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Visitation will be Friday February 21, 2025 at Royal Funeral Home from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM.  The Celebration of Life will be Saturday, February 22, 2025, 2:00 PM, at Union Grove MB Church.  Burial will follow at Carr Chapel Cemetery, 305 Count Spur Rd., Clarksdale, MS 38614. Rev. Sammie Collins will be officiating.  Rev. LC Tyler, II, pastor.

Keith is preceded in death by his great grandmother, Linnie Jones, grandmother Christine Brooks, his mother, Linnie Mae Brooks, and three brothers: James Lockhart, Timothy Kent Sr. and Neal Wade Brooks. Keith leaves to cherish his legacy: his wife, Sonja Kent, three children; Keith L. Kent Jr, Lakeithia Denise Kent, and Christopher Terrell Williams; two grandchildren; Natasha and Kayden Kent; two sisters Carolyn (Fred) Davis, from Aurora, IL and Chris Ann Buchannan; two sister-in-laws; Sanita D. Williams and Cordelia (Nathaniel) Smith; three brother-in-laws; Fred Davis, Zachary Austin, and Willie Williams. He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
