Larry Eugene Ford Sr, 63, of Memphis TN passed away Monday February 10, 2020 at Methodist University Hospital. Larry was born August 6, 1956 in Clarksdale, MS to Cleotha and Eugene O. (Bubba) Ford.
Larry was a 1974 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and later received his BS in Accounting from Delta State University in the year of 1982. Larry also worked as a tax auditor for the United States Dept. of Justice. Larry was a United States Army Military Veteran and received the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Expert Badge M-16. During his professional career, Larry worked for his family business, Ford Plumbing Services and later became the owner after the passing of his father while owning Ford Tax Services. Prior to his death, Larry worked with Alpha Omega Veterans Services.
Larry was a prior resident of Clarksdale, MS and spent the last few years of his life as a resident in Memphis, TN. Larry was a member of the Brothers Club of Greenwood, MS; Alpha Omega Veteran Services (AVOS), served as SGA President of CIC (CCC) from 1978-1979, President's List & Dean's List Scholar from 1977-1979, Dean's List Scholar at Delta State University from 1979-1982, Who's Who Among America High School Students, Who's Who Among American Junior College Students and Who's Who Among American University students.
Visitation will be Friday February 14, 2020 from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Royal Funeral Home. The Homegoing Celebration will be Saturday February 15, 2020, 1:00 PM at King's Temple MB Church, 1402 Lyon Ave., Clarksdale, MS 38614. The burial will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery, Hwy 61S, Lyon, MS.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Cleotha Hollingsworth Ford & Eugene (Bubba) Ford; two brothers Marvin Curly Ford and Ronnie L. Hollingsworth; grandparents Millie & Henry Hollingsworth, Ferd Ford, and Greta (Andrew) Beasley.
Larry leaves to cherish his memories four children LaTarya (Toriano) Taylor of Nesbit, MS, Juanita Cle'tha Ford-Boothe of Arlington, TN, Carol Ford (Kuna) Griggs of Birmingham, AL, Larry Eugene Ford, Jr. of Memphis, TN; two sisters Beverly A. Ford-Davis & Lanita Ford (Joe) Davis both of Clarksdale, MS; eight grandchildren, Andrew Boothe, Arianna Taylor, Jade Boothe, Myles Taylor, Leah Ford, Ambriah, Aliziah, & Andriah Griggs; three God-Brothers Antonio (Rose) Smith, Mark (Gloria) Carter, Darrion Banks; one God-Sister Rosie Clark, a host of other relatives and friends.
