Lonnie Leonard Taylor

Lonnie Leonard Taylor, 58, of Clarksdale, MS passed away Tuesday June 4, 2019 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN.  Lonnie was born November 25, 1960 to Clyde Sr. and Gladys Taylor Merritte in Clarksdale, MS. 

During his career, Lonnie was a truck driver for Helena Chemical Company.  Lonnie was a lifelong resident of Clarksdale, MS and attended McKinley Street Church of Christ.  

Visitation will be Friday, June 14, 2019 from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Royal Funeral Home.  The Celebration of Life will be Saturday, June 15, 2019, 1:00 PM at Silent Grove M.B. Church with the Bro. Oscar Dorsey officiating.  Burial will follow at the Oakridge Cemetery.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Taylor Sr. and a sister, Cathie Taylor.  

Lonnie leaves to cherish his memories a mother, Gladys Taylor Merritte; 1 son, Lonnie Payno; 4 daughters, Latonia Buford, Loneka Payno Lewis (Linell), La'Shonda Payno, Tamela Rash; 3 brothers, Clyde “Brownie” Taylor Jr., Tony Hence, Alfred Hence; 8 sisters, Cassandra Faye Taylor, Carolyn Ann Taylor, Myrtle Hicks, Regina Taylor, Laverne Hence, Mary Ann Taylor, Connie Thornton, Carmen Taylor; 17 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
