Mamie Lee Harrell was born on May 11, 1955 in Clarksdale, Mississippi to Johney Harrell and Mayme Thomas Harrell.
Mamie accepted Christ at an early age at the Mt. Carmel M. B. Church under the leadership of Reverend William Tyler.
Mamie was educated in the Coahoma County public school system. She attended Hopson
Elementary school at Hopson, Mississippi, Dublin Elementary School at Dublin, Mississippi and graduated from Lyon Elementary school at Lyon, Mississippi. She also graduated from Aggie High School in 1973, Coahoma Junior College in 1975 and Alcorn State University in 1977.
Mamie served in the United States Army from 1978 - 1982. While there she received the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Expert with Riffle M-14. She received an honorable discharge with the rank of SP4.
Mamie was preceded in death by her parents, Johney and Mayme Harrell, her brother Isaac Harrell.
Mamie departed this life on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at her home in Atlanta Georgia.
Visitation will be Saturday November 11, 2023 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Mt. Carmel MB Church. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. Rev. Lacy Harrell will be officiating. Bural will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
Mamie leaves to cherish her memory, four brothers: Johnny Lee (Gloria) Harrell of Chicago,
Illinois, Albert Hanell of Bellwood, Illinois, Reverend Lacy (Dorotha) Harrell of Clarksdale, Mississippi and Frank Harrell of Winter Haven, Florida; three sisters; Rosemary Miller of
Berkeley, Illinois, Frances (Reverend Robert) Talley of LaGrange, Georgia and Linda (Mardis) Burnette of Stockbridge, Georgia, two aunts; Ida Harrell of Lyon, Mississippi and Josie Harrell of Clarksdale, Mississippi, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
