Mario Antonio McCray was born on January 27, 1983 in Clarksdale, MS to the parents of Mr. Dave Garner and Mrs. Mary A. McCray-Silas. Mario attended Clarksdale Public Schools and continued his education at Coahoma Community College. Obtaining his Criminal Justice degree, upon his completion led him to various law enforcement jobs. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Dr. Rev. L. C. Tyler, at New Mount Olive M. B. Church serving God until his death. During the process Mario served as a faithful member under Rev. L. C. Tyler II at Union Grove. On May 30, 2025, Mario gained his wings at his home in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
Visitation will be Friday June 13, 2025 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Royal Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be Saturday June 14, 2025, 11:00 AM, at Union Grove MB Church. Burial will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
Preceding him is death is his grandmother Mary A. McCray Foster, 2 aunts Brenday McCeay and Betty Foster, 2 brothers, Vandarren Anderson and David Riley and 1 uncle Eddie Lee Garner.
Mario leaves to cherish his countless memories; 6 sons: Marion A McCray, Jr. Markevious McCray, Emmitt Muskin, JaKaleb Davis, Shamir Givens and K. T. Thomas; His father Mr. Dave Garner, his mother Mrs. Mary A. McCray-Silas, his stepfather Sam Silas, Jr; 5 brothers: Marchellio DeAngelo McCray, Sam Silas III, Dantrail Anderson, David Bryant, Joseph Bryant; 3 sisters: Samaria Silas, Minnie Brown and Corina Arrington; 1 great nephew, Amarion De’Angelo Brown; 1 great neice Ja”Zaiyah McCray; host of aunts Georgia (Arcurtis) Campbell, Jacqueline (Willie) Campbell, Rubystine Taylor, Rosie (Riley) Kemp, Evelyn (Daniel) Taylor, Lenor(Clarence) Dampire, 1 uncle Jeffrey (Teresa) Foster, 2 great aunts;: Ester Lee Foster and Ruby Davis, and also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
