May Francis Brown, 89, of Clarksdale, MS, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Merit Health Northwest. Mae was born May 16, 1927 in Duck Hill, MS to Ed and Louizer Allen Hardy. May was an outstanding cook and not only did she share that gift with her family but with the entire neighborhood, even with those she didn't know. Mae was a member of Adams Chapel, Claremont, MS, and was a native of Clarksdale, MS for over 60 years. Visitation will be Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Royal Funeral Home. The family hour will follow from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 19, 2017, 2:00 PM, at Chapel Hill M.B. Church with the Rev. Edward S. Thomas, pastor of King Temple M.B. Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Adams Chapel Cemetery, Claremont, MS. Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Brown in 1994; 3 children; Gertrude Price, Lucille Brown, and Dorothy Brown; 2 sisters; Hattie Davis and Ruth Allen. Mae leaves to cherish her memories 4 sons, Eddie Flagg, Ellis Brown (Betty), Earnest Brown (Sandra), Andrew Brown, Jr. (Tonya); 4 daughters; Bessie Thompson (I.D.), Bobbie Butler (Bobby), Ormie Terry (Brad), Ruthie Johnson (Ronnie); 5 brothers; Henry Allen, L.C. Allen (Sarah), Tommy Harris (Pat), Joe Allen (Susie), Albert Allen (Ethel); a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
