Mildred Robinson-Curtis was born on November 21, 1991, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, to Doris Smith and John Henry Smith, Jr. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Sherard, Mississippi, under the leadership of Reverend Sam Harris. Mildred received her education in the Clarksdale Public School District.
Mildred was a dedicated and faithful employee of Walmart in Clarksdale, where she remained a valued team member until her passing. In 2016, she was united in holy matrimony to Demetria Curtis.
Mildred departed this earthly life on April 19, 2026, in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
Visitation will be Friday May 8, 2026, from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Royal Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be Saturday May 9, 2026, 2:00 PM, at Union Grove MB Church. Burial will follow at McLaurin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Sam Harris will be officiating. Rev. LC Tyler, II, pastor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Demetria Curtis; her brother, Andrew Robinson; her grandparents, Mildred Robinson-Brown, Melvin Robinson, Nathaniel “Jack” Hunter, Marie Archer, and John Henry Smith, Sr.; her great-grandparents, Miller and Pearlie B. Robinson; three uncles, Demoncia Robinson, Elex Smith, and Eddie Lee Archer; two aunts, Vanesha Archer and Georgia Williams; and a beloved cousin, Walter Lee Morris.
Mildred leaves to cherish her loving memories her son, Kentarious Thomas; a niece she raised as her own daughter, Auayanna Jones; her parents, Doris Smith and John Henry Smith, Sr.; six sisters, Lucy (Dakota) Dotson, Viniesha Robinson, and John’iyah Smith, all of Clarksdale, Mississippi; Kelshavokia (Damarcus) Robinson and Salicia Saffold of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Georgia Davis of Springfield, Illinois; five brothers, Kelvin Robinson, Felix Saffold, John Henry Smith III, Johntavious Hardine, and Warren Moore, Sr., all of Clarksdale, Mississippi.
She also leaves two special nephews, Daylon Harris and Adelon Jernigan, Sr., affectionately known by her as “my little genius”; eight aunts, Lorine Grandberry, Meredith (Horace) Walker, Leona Clark, and Gwendolyn Hunter, all of Clarksdale, Mississippi; Lois Archer of Decatur, Illinois; Gwendlyn (Samuel) Townson of Springfield, Illinois; Tiniki (Prentis) Myles of Douglasville, Georgia; and Gina (Robert) Cerder of Hillcrest, Illinois; seven uncles, Melvin (Barbreanna) Robinson, Lucas Robinson, Melvin Stevenson, Robert Jones, Robert (Carylon) Archer, and James (Patricia) Archer, all of Clarksdale, Mississippi; and Jeffery (Tonya) Carlyne of Stockbridge, Georgia.
In addition, she leaves four great-aunts, Vinnie (Larry) Grace and Lucy Dotson of Clarksdale, Mississippi; Teretha Tollison of Memphis, Tennessee; and Ella Robinson of Jackson, Mississippi; one great-uncle, Gabe (Jacqueline) Robinson of Omaha, Nebraska; three cherished cousins, Anson “99” Robinson, Kyndria Robinson, and Lois Archer; two devoted best friends, Sherika Tillman and Antonette Griffin; and her stepmother, Tonya Hawkins.
