Mrs. Eddie Mae Hollins Ratcliff
The month of April in 1943 brought more than Spring Thunderstorms and Blooming Flowers, on the 25th day, Eddie Mae Hollins was born to the proud parents, Aurevers Mickey Hollins and Joe Willie Hollins in Quitman County, Marks, Mississippi.
Eddie Mae gave her life to Christ at an early age at the Oakridge Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor R H Hedrick.
Eddie Mae attended Oakridge School in Stovall, Mississippi and McCloud School in Farrell, Mississippi.
Eddie Mae loved to cook and care for others. Her cooking and willing to feed others brought so much joy to herself and others. She loved to watch vampire movies and westerns.
Eddie Mae married Lester Ratcliff Sr., causing her to become, Eddie Mae Ratcliff this union lasted many years until his untimely death.
Visitation will be Friday July 17, 2020 from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Royal Funeral Home. The graveside memorial will be held Saturday July 18, 2020, 11:00 AM at Oakridge Cemetery.
Eddie Mae departed this earthly life on Thursday, July 09, 2020 around 1:30 in the evening at her home, holding the hand of her great grandson, Aireyun Jackson aka “TURTLE” and being hugged by her granddaughter, Renalda Jones. She is preceded in death by parents, Aurevers & Joe Willie Hollins; husband, Lester Ratcliff Sr.; 5 sisters, Luevanna Johnson, Beatrice Hicks, Ida Mae Martin, Ruthie D. Jones and Josephine Holston; a brother, Walter Sylvester Hollins; 2 great grandkids; as well as other relatives.
Mrs. Eddie Mae Hollins Ratcliff is survived by her 4 children, Hattie Ratcliff (Jerry) Tueth, Everett, WA; Roy F. (Annie) Hollins, Webb, MS; Lester (Jacqueline) Ratcliff, Friars Point, MS; Franklin D. Wade Jr., Memphis, TN; 2 sisters, Irene Hollins and Loretta Baxton both of Memphis, TN; a step mother, Rosie W. Hollins, Milwaukee, WI; A special friend, Paul McComb, Friars Point, MS; a cousin/baby sister, LaNita Ford (Joe) Davis, Clarksdale, MS; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends, who loved her dearly.
