Nelson departed this earthly life on Wednesday September 8, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father Albert Rash, mother Willie Bernice Rash, 2 sisters Ruth Harris and Mammie Gavin, 2 brothers Charles Rash and Junior Gavin. Mr. Gavin attended Clarksdale Public School District. He formerly worked at Mississippi Limestone for 10 years as well as Budweiser. He was known as an avid pool player throughout the state of Mississippi. Mr. Gavin also loved to watch Bruce Lee movies in his spare time and play dominos. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Linda Gavin of Granite City, IL, three daughters Arenitha (Henry) Smith, Vickie Pittman of Clarksdale, MS, Vanessa Fryer of Southaven, MS, one son Desmond (Camekia) Triplett of Duncan, MS, five sisters Linda Rash, Marilyn Rash, and Jacqueline Rash of Clarksdale, MS, Brenda Rash of Milwaukee, WI, Mary Wilkins of Memphis, TN; seven brothers Johnny (Demetria) Wilkins of Robinsonville, MS, Tommy Wilkins, Otis Wilkins, Mike Allen, and Ricky Allen of Memphis, TN, Floyd Rash of Clarksdale, MS, Jesse James Gavin of Chipley, FL; eight grandkids, Henrika Smith, Henry Smith Jr., Felicia Smith, Kadarius Fryer, Ollaysia Wallace, Aveon Pittman, Tommy Pittman, and Harry Britton; three great grandkids, Camiyaw Smith, Aalyric Edmond, and Christian Edmond. His memory will also be cherished by his special friend Vesser Triplett, one god-daughter Doris Marbley; three special cousins Pinkie Jenkins, Billie King, and Annie King; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
