Mrs. Pearlene Wright, daughter of the late Mr. Johnnie and Mrs. Ruth Anna Jordan, was born on Sunday, May 5, 1940 in Sandersville, Mississippi. She attended Sandersville and Mt. Olive public schools and Rust College in Holly Springs, Mississippi. At an early age she professed her faith in her Savior Jesus Christ and has been an active member of Allen Chapel AME Church, under the leadership of Reverend Perry Truddle.
For 40 years Mrs. Wright was a teacher in the Quitman County School District. She retired from teaching and continued to lovingly work with youth at Allen Chapel AME organizing Easter programs and other activities. Her positive influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.
Mrs. Wright peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at the age of 86. She was proceeded in death by her parents; sisters Ms. Lummie Gore, Ms. Ecatherine Jordan, Ms. Ella Mae Gore, Mrs. Harlene Morgan, Ms. Merlene Jordan and Mrs. Edna (Lois) Rhodes and brothers Mr. Johnnie Jordan Jr., Mr. Lee Quincey Calhoun, Mr. Essie Jordan, Mr. Harlon Jordan; and husband Mr. Shadrick Aaron Wright II.
Visitation will be Friday January 30, 2026 at Royal Funeral Home from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. The Celebration of Life will be Saturday January 31, 2026, 10:00 AM, at Allen Chapel AME Church, 200 Humphrey Ave., Marks, MS 38646. Burial will follow at McLaurin Memorial Gardens, Hwy 61 N, Lyon, MS.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons Shadrick Wright III and Anthony Wright (Leslie Wright); grandchildren Shadrick Wright IV, Kaitlyn Wright, Autumn Wright, Kennedy Wright, Gideon Driver, Anna Wright and Kaiden Madkins; sisters Mrs. Johnnie Ruth Keys, Mrs. Lessie Barnes, Mrs. Margret Ann Joseph, and Mrs. Cozette Thillet-Parker; nieces; nephews; friends; neighbors; and loving Allen Chapel AME family.
