Shakela Shunta Shields entered eternal rest on May 11, 2026. Born on February 22, 1993, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, she was the beloved daughter of Clayton Brown and Patricia Shields.
At an early age, Shakela accepted Christ and carried her faith throughout her life. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend who cherished her family deeply. As the youngest and only girl among her siblings, she shared a special bond with her brothers and loved her family wholeheartedly.
Visitation will be Friday May 22, 2026 from 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM at Royal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday 12:00 Noon at Pleasant Valley Church. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. Elder Clayton Brown will be officiating. Rev. Anfernee Morgan, pastor.
She leaves to cherish her memory her three beloved children, Kevonia Shields, Kulture Shields, and King Shields; her parents, Clayton Brown (Doris) and Patricia Shields; her siblings, Daniel Shields, Clayton Shields, Cordero Shields, Marcurio Banks, and Jeremy Coleman; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Antonio Hoy Sr.
Shakela will forever be remembered for her kind heart, loving spirit, and the love she shared with the Brown, Brooks, Dotson, Powell, Dampier, Carr, Glasper, Sykes families, and many others.
