Life Story of Teresa Washup
Teresa Washup was born on July 30, 1972 in Sumner, Mississippi to L.T Washup and Beatrice Washup.
Teresa, also known as “Tricia” received Christ at an early age. She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksdale, Mississippi under the leadership of Pastor E. Towner.
Teresa attended Sherard Elementary School and Clarksdale High School.
Teresa loved being around her family and friends. She had a bright personality. She loved listening to music also. Teresa loved to have fun. She loved to walk, dance, and play basketball before her health declined. She was a huge fan of the “Chicago Bulls” NBA team.
Teresa was preceded in death by her father, L.T Washup; her son, Dewayne Washup; as well as other relatives and friends.
Teresa departed this earthly life on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital North in Oxford, Mississippi.
Visitation will be Friday December 17, 2021 from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM at Royal Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be held Saturday December 18, 2021, 11:00 AM at Union Grove MB Church. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.
Teresa leaves to cherish her memories, her only child, James Washup, Clarksdale, MS; her mother, Beatrice Washup, Clarksdale, MS; five sisters, Annie Marble, Gale Ratliff, Dorothy Brownlee, Katrina Washup and Laquitta Washup all of Clarksdale, MS; three brothers, Willie (Gloria) Ratliff, Memphis, TN; Charles Ratliff and Ivory Ratliff both of Clarksdale, MS; two special friends, James Porter and Lottie Shields; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
