Terry McBride II Obituary

Terry Leon McBride, II (affectionately known as Pooh) was born July 15, 1983 in Houston, TX to his parents Angela McBride-Glasper and Terry McBride. He gave his life to Christ at a young age at First Christian Church under the leadership of Elder E.L. Griffin. Terry was a very active member at First Christian Church. He served as an usher, a member of the youth choir, and had a major role in the youth ministry. During his young adult years, he founded and co-led a youth ministry known as Saving Our Youth. The ministry enabled him to introduce youth to Christ from Mississippi to Arkansas. As an adult, he became a member of New Life Church under the leadership of Bishop Roderick Mitchell.  Over the last three years of his life, he was an active member at New Beginning Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Gardenia Hicks.

Terry was a proud alumnus of Clarksdale High School (CHS), where he was an athletic football player for the Wildcats. He graduated from CHS in 2001. He obtained his associates degree from Coahoma Community College in 2003. Terry also obtained his bachelor’s from Mississippi Valley State University where he majored in Early Childhood Education. He was an employee for Coahoma Opportunities, Inc, where he served as a teacher and an administrator. He was loved by his students. He was very passionate about teaching and making a difference in the students’ lives. He was also a part-time employee at Horseshoe Casino.

Terry was a devoted father, son, and brother. He was a man of God who exhibited reckless faith. Terry was a modern-day disciple of Christ because he was willing to share the gospel with anyone he encountered. Over the course of his life, he taught many people about the importance and benefits of tithing. He was committed to teaching people how to declare and pray scriptures over whatever circumstance they were facing and in their daily lives. He loved sports, especially football, and he prided himself on staying in shape. Terry was very humble, loving, nonchalant, kindhearted, and funny.  He loved kids and they loved him as well. Throughout his life he impacted many people both young and old, and his memory and legacy will forever be imprinted on the lives of those who were blessed to encounter him and his ministry.
