Walter L. Patterson

Walter L. Patterson was born in Clarksdale, MS on April 23, 1947. He was the son of Rhodie Robinson and Karo Patterson. Walter passed into eternal life on February 2, 2020 at the age of 72.

Walter was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, bravely serving in the Vietnam War.  Walter was a multitalented artist, mastering multiple instruments including the guitar.  Walter was also a brilliant writer with a beautiful mind. He was a free spirited individual who encouraged those around him to dream big. He loved Clarksdale, his southern roots and was proud of his culture.

Visitation will be Saturday February 22, 2019 10:00 AM at Royal Funeral Home.  The memorial will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Freddie DeShazer officiating. The United States Marine Corps will perform military honors ceremony to culminate the memorial.

He leaves a loving legacy of gentle kindness cherished by his family a wife Marlene Patterson; three children Nicole Patterson, Nalicia Patterson, Lee Blacknall; one granddaughter Nyla Patterson; a nephew Steve Robinson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
