Mr. Willie Coger, Jr.

Willie Coger, Jr. was born March 23, 1943 to the late Lillie Mae Hill and Willie Coger, Sr. of Clarksdale, MS. He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. Willie was a member of Friendship AME Church.  Willie was a lifelong resident of Clarksdale, MS.  God saw that Willie was getting tired so he put his loving arms around him and whispered, "Come with Me."

Visitation will be Friday January 20, 2023 at Royal Funeral Home from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM.  Funeral service will be held Saturday January 21, 2023, 1:00 PM at Friendship AME Church, 120 MLK Blvd., Clarksdale, MS 38614.  Rev. Dr. Gwendloyn M. Pitts will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.

  Willie leaves to cherish his memories one child Joe Newman (Brenda) of Chicago, IL; 2 brothers Eddie Dale of Olive Branch, MS and Eugene Coger of Chicago, IL; 2 sisters Johnnie Mae Coger and Earlene Coger, both of Chicago, IL; 2 special friends Barbara Sykes and Rose Glenn, both of Clarksdale; 5 grandchildren: Jamere, Joseph, Antonio, Andrea and Jordyn; 6 great-grandchildren: Davion, Jhrue, Ryder, True, Ashayla and Jemilan; a host of other relatives and friends.

John 14: 1-4

 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God,

believe also in me.  My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 

 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 

 You know the way to the place where I am going.”
