Willie Allen Kirkwood, Sr., 81, of Farrell, MS died peacefully Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Clarksdale Nursing Center. Willie was born July 19, 1935. During most of his working career, Willie was a farmer. Visitation will be Friday, March 3, 2017 from 11:00 am-6:00 pm at Royal Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Zion Traveler M.B. Church, Farrell, MS with the Rev. Lorenzo Windless officiating. The burial will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery, Lyon, MS. Willie was preceded in death by his father, John Henry Kirkwood, Sr., mother, Katies Holmes Coleman; 2 brothers; A.C. Kirkwood, Ernest Kirkwood; 1 sister; Fannie Robinson; 1 son; Willie Allen Kirkwood, Jr.; 1 daughter; Angie Leana Kirkwood. Willie leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Florine Woods Kirkwood; 4 sons; Spencer Kirkwood, Sr. of Acadia, FL, Thurman Kirkwood of Woodsville, MS, Ronnie Kirkwood (Juanita) of Farrell, MS, & Donnell Kirkwood, Sr. (Theresa) of Boynton Beach, FL; 3 daughters; Valerie Jo Kirkwood of Clarksdale, MS, Janet Jackson of Fort Worth, TX, & Shanickey Kirkwood of Farrell, MS; 2 brothers; John Henry Kirkwood, Jr. of Farrell, MS, & Evrich Mcclure of Detroit, MI; 5 sisters; Susie Mcclure-Steele, Alma Jean Reese, both of Detroit, MI, Joella Harris of Chicago, IL, Vera Harris, Addie Knight-El, both of Santa Barbara, CA; 19 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
