Yolanda Jones

A TIME TO BE BORN & A TIME TO DEPART
On a warm summer day on August 24, 1955, a beautiful, healthy baby girl was born.  She was the first of six children.  As a child, Yolanda was the big sister of three girls and two boys.  Yolanda departed her earthly life on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Methodist Olive Branch Hospital located in Olive Branch, Mississippi. She made her transition at the age of 66 years old.

A TIME TO ACCEPT CHRIST
Yolanda dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized in Alligator, Mississippi. Yolanda also developed a profound love for the Lord and became a devoted member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in Lyon, MS.  

A TIME FOR EDUCATION
Yoland attended Brooks Elementary located in Duncan, Mississippi.  She received her high school diploma from Broad Street High School located in Shelby, Mississippi and graduated with the class of 1973. Yolanda also attended Coahoma Community College located in Clarksdale, Mississippi where she majored in computer technology in 2004.

A TIME TO WORK/ENJOY
Yolanda retired from Cooper Tire after being employed for nearly 30 years.  Yolanda enjoyed watching old black and white movies and putting a smile on those around her faces.  She truly enjoyed being around family and friends. Cooking was one of Yolanda favorite things to do. Yolanda also enjoyed listening and singing to her favorite gospel songs.  

A TIME TO REMEMBER
Yolanda was preceded in death by Arlean Payne (Mother), Louis Payne (Father), and Charles Payne (Brother). She leaves to cherish her memories are her daughters, Samika Jones (Clarksdale, MS);  Quantina Jones (Clarksdale, MS); Bonus child, Brian McCray Sr (Robinsonville, MS) three (3) grandchildren, Kadaeja McCray (Clarksdale, MS); Brian McCray II (Clarksdale, MS); Kyndall Jones (Clarksdale, MS); four (4) sisters, Sarah Payne (Clarksdale, MS); Mary Payne (Robinsonville, MS); Beatrice Payne (Robinsonville, MS),Gayla Crumb (Atlanta, GA), One(1) brother, Jim Payne (Bobo, MS); best friend of over 40 years, Joe Liner (Toleda, Ohio) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday January 7, 2021 from 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM at Royal Funeral Home.  A graveside memorial will be held Saturday, January 8, 2021, 1:00 PM at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.  In the event of inclement weather, the service will take place at Royal Funeral Home.  Rev. James L. Jones will be officiating.
